Cyberfair

The CyberFair is an international competition which challenges students to create a website using their skills in web development and design- at the same time showcase the culture and hotspots in their area. We have decided to join the CyberFair and chose the topic Local Culture, Music and Art forms and the Panagbenga Festival as our feature.

My group mates and I had some companions from another section (3-Mapagmalasakit) and we started to work on our website. We didn’t communicate very well because we had different schedules and dismissals and that became a problem. We tried to resolve this problem by taking our free time during recess and lunch to talk about the creation of our website.
We had an opportunity to work as a team- it was when we were going to interview Mr. Anthony de Leon, the general manager of Baguio Country Club, to inquire about the events on Panagbenga Festival. We were ready for our interview but his secretary informed us that he was busy at the time. While waiting, she assigned one staff member to tour us around the Country Club and it was fun. As our tour was finished, Mr. De Leon was on his way so it made me nervous because it was my first time to conduct an interview. Fortunately, our interview went well and we collected adequate information on the Panabenga festival.

I had a wonderful experience in making this project because I spent my time with my classmates, schoolmates, and friends and also with our subject teacher. We also applied the theme of the cyberfair “Take Action and Unite” in our friendship and collaboration as a team.
